I'm currently using an creative audigy:o. I didnt notice much of a sound difference between that and onboard . My mate has got an xtremegamer and says the difference is amazing. I have heard a lot of people say the same, but i dunno if i will really see the difference. My main uses for it will be gaming, movies, and a bit of music. What do you guys suggest, shall i buy it or not?

Get the xfi extreme music it's better than the gamer and you will see a massive difference yes it's like going from mono to stereo.

i must be confused because i thought the game was supposed to be better than the xtreme music? game was released after wasnt it?

Its a cut down card, I aint gonna repeat post all info I posted before, you can search using my nick.

Even looking at it its obv its basic.

Creative released more card than normal, probably to try get back falling sales, most were a joke IMO.

The Extreme Music unlike the Gamer and Audio is a original black/gold layout Creative card.

"The current Elite-listed X-Fi Xtreme Music, is being retired, and replaced by the Xtreme Gamer. This new card includes all the core features of the Xtreme Music card, with a couple of neat new touches thrown in, such as the media PC-friendly half-height PCB."

Custom PC

hmm....now im confused, they're saying its just as good if not better.

I have the X-Fi XtremeMusic and inho its a great card but i can compare it to the gamer.

By the way i mostly use my Sennheiser HD595's and the sound is brilliant, especially the 3D positioning in games.:D
