Hey guys, and gals if there are any on here...

I'm sure your sick of the whole x-fi questions...but imjust wondering which to get...

Basically with the "X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro Series" Card, its practically ideantical to the " X-Fi XtremeMusic" card except you get the extra X-ram, ie a fair bit more to be precise, and by the looks of it a few extra ways of connecting things...

Oh...And both speakers support 7.1 dont they...?

Only reason i ask...is....Does the extra X-ram mke THAT much difference...or not? Also, the Xtreme music one (on OcUK anyways) Comes with the Inspire 5.1 speakers...Which are better than my current Labtec speakers i believe, as for a start i only have two speakers and a sub...

So question is, do i get the fatal1ty due to it being "better" because of the X-ram, or the Xtreme music due to the speakers, bearing in mind im using the onboard sound off my A8n Sli premium Motherboard...

Any feedback will be appreciated, as i mite try to get the parents to get either of the two as a present :P

Thanks,

Craig.

I went for the X-RAM as I found one that included the front panel and remote control.

The X-RAM does nothing in games that don't support it. But in games that do.......

It's amazing!

I went with the X-Fi Music. I'm 100% happy I did. Although I did have driver trouble. That would have happened no matter which X-Fi card I got though.

2142 ^

Yea 2142 does support it, Id take the x-ram option, since its a lot more future proof, x-fis are becoming very popular and it would be wise to assume that many games released in the near future will take advantage of them

I bet by the time XRAM is supported it'll move onto something else. Similar to MS Force Feedback, for example. Just didn't take off.

Have you compared it to a non-X-RAM X-Fi card though? Can't see how my Xtreme Music could sound any better on BF2.

have to wonder how much use the features are gonna be once vista is running the show with its software driven audio :/. It will all depend on how well creative can patch into dxsound.

EAX5 and therefore X-RAM can be used via OpenAL 100% hardware accelerated :)

Microsoft are just getting rid of DirectSound (which EAX1-4 run through) and replacing it with OpenAL.

Most likely just release a new soundcard. People are still having problems with this line on various chipsets, not just Nvidia but ATI as well (3200)

Hmmz, i mite just try the extreme music one then...i take it that it will be better than the onboard audio on my A8n sli premium board? :)

Just need to get better speakers also :S
