X: Gold

So i've seen this pop up in the last few sales on steam and i'm looking for a new game to play, but I don't really get what the game is. Is it like X-Wing vs TIE Fighter or more like Sins of a Solar Empire?

Also, should I get the superbox and play them all through or just get the Gold box and play the latest ones?

Do I need a joystick?

You are in a ship, you can dog fight. You can upgrade your ship. You can build stuff in space and create a business empire. There is a weak story through the game.

I bought the box out of nostalgia, if you dont want outdated graphics just read up on the story and buy terran conflict

Heck I would just get X3:TC by itself.

Little point in getting X3:Reunion as well unless you want it for the story which really isn't the big draw of the X games. Steam is saying ive got over 150hours on TC and in it I've barely played the main story missions.
