X-Plane 12 is out

... well, it's "Early Access" as from about ten minutes ago so effectively public beta.

The website hasn't fully updated yet, the Windows installer is here and the Mac installer is here.

I know we have a fair few flight simmers in here, I don't know how many fly X-Plane but I've been looking forward to this release for quite some time. I've been flying it on and off since V5.

If you buy XP12 during the early access period, you also get XP11 as well.

It's a Universal app.

Remember it's still an 'early access' so technically pre-beta.

It's never going to look as pretty as MSFS (that's a given) but it's not bad. For me, it's not about the eye candy as much as the flight model. It's been a long time since I flew any light aircraft in sims and I'm finding it really enjoyable to plonk about in a basic Cessna, watching the world go by.

Depends what you want, to me, an accurate flight model is more important.

Just flew all the way down the M4 corridor from Heathrow and as soon as I reached Wales, it started raining *sigh*
