X-RAM in vista

Will vista support the X-Ram feature of X-Fi's, or will games still have to be coded specifically to support it? I know there have been some overhauls in vistas handling of sound, and that hardware acceleration is only through OpenAL, but will that take advantage of X-Ram natively?

I think Quake 4 at least currently supports X-RAM via OpenAL so I can't see why not, though the games will have to be coded to take advantage of it.

So Open AL doesnt support the X-RAM by default, the game itself has to be programmed specifically to take advantage of it?

Basically i'm trying to figure out which would be a better buy for gaming in vista, an x-fi xtreme music or an x-fi xtreme gamer fatal1ty?

vista does indeed only use open al, this renders things like eax etc totally useless.
Creative have hinted about a workaround for vista rtl but till then an xfi is just a sound card with high quality dacs and a clever digital amp
