I have a D5 pump/X-Res combo. The Res came with a anti-vortex foam and insert. What do you guys recommend to use?

My setup is the following..

Res/Pump > CPU > GPU > Rad >

Can I get away using just the foam as the insert seems to just hold onto bubbles?

I have the DDC version unfortunately, but most suggest between 2 and 5, experiment with it and see what you like best between noise and performance results

I have the same pump, never bothered with the foam and stuck with the logo cause I like the way it looks.

The bubbles on the insert will disappear with time on the logo. I actually found that loads of bubbles got stuck in the foam for the 10 seconds I used it.

I also set the pump to nearly the lowest setting. I have no idea what the actual speed is cause I broke both the tachometer and the control knob so use a screw driver.

I use the EK insert only. As for speed setting, the lowest possible. I've tested temps and it makes no difference whether it's set on 1 or 5. Test and see for yourself.
