X-Wing Vs Tiefighter remake for LIVE Arcade?

I have just stumbled across a news article regarding Lucasarts dropping a huge hint that there could be a remake of XvT on the way back in Aug 2009.

Has there been anything else said about this since?

I have to say, if this was true, I would be very exicted, originaly XvT was designed for mass multiplayer as the game didnt really have a storyline, but it was far too pre-mature for its time as the internet was still in its early stages.

I do think this game could be massive as flight sims on a joypad usually work well

it would be a guaranteed purchase from me if it was though! I loved the XvT series (especially X-wing Alliance) and it would be epic on Live

I'd love one of these games to be remade but I think you'll find the hint they dropped turned out to be the X-Wing iPhone game.

Yeah, awesome game! Can barely remember it as I was young at the time, although all the games were amazing for the time.

Would be cool loved the Xwing, Tie fighter and Xwing vs tiefighter games Xwing was the reason I purchased my first decent quality joystick

It is one of my all time favourite games and I'd love to see it remade. That said, I'd prefer to see it remade on the PC - having joystick control makes it 1000x better.

It'll probably never be remade as sim-in-space type game. If it requires a joystick rather than a joypad / m&k , the market for it be would be tiny.

They're more likely to do a rebel assault arcadey thing by far.

XvT is what I cut my teeth in online gaming with, I held #1 on Case's ladder for a good 6 months 1v1 too. Needless to say, if this ever happened, I'd be excited.
