Hi

We have an application that is installed on to a linux server and the user is accessing the software via ssh -X... on a mac.

All is working fine with the exception of a plugin that requires OpenGL support on the client machine (the mac). It's an ATI card on the server and intel on the mac..

any ideas on how to run the application via x11 forwarding with OpenGL support?

Thanks

As far as I'm aware, ssh -X will start a x11 app seassion without openGL support.

from what I've been reading on it.. yes your right both graphics card play a part of it...

The app (gene analyst; hence why we are running it on a server and not locally) itself runs fine expect for this one plugin that generates a graph. The manufactures of the software says it's out of their scoope of support, and yes I've voiced my conerns.. this is trying to get it running on one machine, let alone 400 of them.

but I'll be honest and say I've not got a clue on where to start, it's out of my range of specialism, I've played around with x11 and it all works but never needed openGL support with it. it's out of all my collegues' range of specialism too..

We know Microsoft, Apple and serveal flavour of Linux between us but no one knowns X11 that well.

Even a website or a contact that may know what we need would help... lol
