x1300Pro Fan noise.

I've recently built a cheap system for a mate, however most of the system is fairly quiet however the graphics card fan is really quite noisey. As i've said it's an Asus x1300pro, he doesn't game a lot so just got a cheapo card and it won't be stretched at all, infact i've underclocked it a little hoping it would slow the fan down. Anyone know a way of slowing it down???? Is there a program to download or something in the settings???
Any help would be appreciated.
 
Could try ATi Tool, im sure thats got a fan speed adjustment built in, so if its not used for gaming just reduce it using that if your can. :)

It seems like Ati tool doesn't have any option for fan control, which is really what I need, anyone know how likely the card would go bust if i stopped the fan??? I know it's drastic but it is hat loud
