Whatever you do, do not swap your current 6800GT for the X1550 512mb. It will be a MASSIVE downgrade.

Whats the stats of the two cards. My first guess would be hell no
The GT was and still is good where as a newer card like that is probably cheap for them to make due to a new small dye size, low power requirements and heat output and possibly passive or low noise.
Usually its highly featured but severely restricted in essential ways
Typically this results in very poor performance in high stress situations like high res, etc a bit like how onboard gfx turns out
