If I remember correctly (am not at pc at moment) go into settings and look for temperature or fan control, and u can set it manually or to temperature controlled. I have my card on temp control but it usually only sits at 45% of rpms
They are very loud. You should hear the XT!! Is ATI Tool the same as ATI Tray Tools? If so right click on the icon in the taskbar and click on the overclocking bit, then when you get the console up click on the fan settings. You can set it to manual or automatic by temperatures where you can ste the speed according to a temperature.
It will also depend on how good your case airflow is.
I cant seem to find the Fan setting speed on the ATI tray tools. Have you managed to lower the fan speed on the X1600 pro before, as some people have said that this card doesnt have an onboard fan control sensor.
