X1650XT or 7600GT?

Hi. I am looking into fitting one of these two cards for a low-ish cost gaming PC I am building for a friend. It will be used with a 19" TFT monitor. Which one would you go for? Found a few reviews which aren't really conclusive. I guess they should perform about the same??

Thanks. I've got a 7600GT in my own PC, and that was my first choice for this build. Don't think you can go wrong with them although they are creeping up in price to a level where the 7900GS is looking a possible alternative. The X1650 XT seems to have a good on paper spec though.

Sapphire ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB GDDR3 cheaper than the 7900GS, faster than the 7900GS and only £15 more than a 7600GT.

Yeah the X1950 Pro is nice but not sure I can fit it into the budget we have.

Sapphire X1950 Pro 256mb - £135.11
OCUK 7900GS 256mb - £117.49
Sapphire X1650 XT 256mb - £93.99
Pallit 7600GT (from other vendor..) - £88

7900gs can be had for £105 inc vat and delivery its a far better choice for the money.

and the X1650XT IS faster than the 7600GT, but its got twice as much everything more or less, so im not sure how its not faster than 7900GS as well i mean just look at its hardware specifications

no i wasn't at all joking, the reviews i have read shows the X1650XT equal/slightly faster than 7600GT, plus they overclock well (so do the GTs mind) and no, look at the specifications and be shocked just how poor the card is, considering it has the hardware to do so much more

I am looking at the same choice of cards... For AGP and my budget is around £70 but could go as high as £100. This is to go into a PC that is now in the longe and needs to run very quietly. PC will be running a few games and also used to watch HD clips and DVDs, it runs XP NOT Media Centre but my current card won't run to the native resolution of the TV which is 1366 x 768.

My searching has now turned up some contradictory results, with a mixture of 7600GT and 1650Pro winning. Nobody mentions how quiet each of them runs though, anybody got direct comparisons??? Or working suggestions on how to keep cool but run quietly?
