x1650xt unlock?

Im in the processes of buy a gfx card i have a cross fire motherboard so i want to stick to ati i was think of the HIS ATI Radeon X1650 XT ICEQ Turbo my budget is £100 so this is at the top of my budget also is it possible to unlock the extra pipes as you can on the his 1800gto card.
 
The X1650XT features the new RV560 core. There isn't anything to unlock I'm afraid. Nice card regardless. It would be worth your while to spend a few extra pounds and grab a GeForce 7900GS or X1950 Pro instead. :)

I don't think so. As far as I'm aware they use two different cores. the X1650XT using RV560 and the X1950 Pro using the RV570.

Yeah, i'd say stretch a bit more. an OCUK 7900gs is only another £12 odd plus postage and apparently overclocks like a moster. Also the 1950pro is on this week only for another £25 odd, which is even better than the GS so i hear. I'd say don't settle for the 1650 when there's better cards at not much more money to be had.
 
It is highly unlikely you'd be able to unlock any pipes, the X1950 Pro is at an excellent price point and is part of the current range, it wouldn't make sense to artificially cut those cores just to compete with the 7600 GT (though I suppose it would depend at which point people are buying) and unlike the X1800 GTO and X1800 XL the X1650 XT has a different PCB design to the X1950 Pro so even if you could unlock it with a modified BIOS you wouldn't see as significant a gain.
