Thought i'd start a thread about this card to see what info you guys have.

A quick google only turns up information that it was supposed to launch today with the X1950Pro.

Apparently it's built on 80nm, supports dongle-less Crossfire, and is as fast as, maybe even faster, than the 7600GT.

I don't see them in retail channels though :/

X1650XT is based on RV560 and X1950Pro is based on the RV570. From what we heard, the X1650XT will have doubled the amt. of Pixel shaders compared to the X1650Pro.

As we have mentioned before, both cards can CrossFire using CrossFire bridge instead of the current cards that uses a Master/Slave configuration using an external cable connection.

Digit-life's review of the X1950Pro mentioned they had to pull the info on it from their review at the last minute. Looks like it didn't get purged entirely though. Benchmarks for the card seem to have made it into thie 3D digest for September.

Performance in shader intensive games like FEAR is pretty good - on par with an X1800XL or X1800GTO at 1280x1024. In older games it's somewhere around a 6800GT or 7600GS. It doesn't do very well when AA is cranked up either

Something smells a bit fishy to me though - no X1600s in the digest. Maybe it's all just a typo?
 
Yeah, DON'T get this card mixed up with the X1650 Pro, because from what I can see, it's far better performing in shader intensive games.

I'm just shocked at the total lack of information about the card. If it really is a 7600GT killer, and I was ATi, i'd be telling people about it! :D

Ignore the list of cards. Go straight into the benchmarks. There is a X1650XT that's consistently above the X1650Pro.

Edit: And bizarrely come out ahead of the 7800GTX 256MB in HL2 at 1280x1024...

Further Edit: Crap! Misread that. Comes ahead of the 7800GTX 256MB and 7800GTX 512MB... ATI need to use those figures in their marketing...

Yeah be like the x1600's, the pro was absolutely atrocious, got whooped of the 6600 GT, yet the x1600 XT was faster than it, i bet loads of ppl made the mistake and got the pro's. :(
 
Life was simpler in the days of 9500s and 9700s when we just had pro and vanilla. It all went pear shaped with the 9800s and we had vanilla, Pro (in several versions) XT, SE...

I want a return to a consistent naming schemes for both nVIDIA and ATI

Edit - Maybe ATI just have vanilla, Pro and XT. Could be vanilla, GT and GTX for nVIDIA.
 
Its marketing man so it will never return to ease of reading....oh pro means its better and all that!

512MB of turbo cache memory was the best thing I every heard tho!

Props to NVidia cos loads of people thought it was a great deal ;P

and SE is SPECIAL EDITION (SECONDARY)....oh it must be the best! ;)

All LE and SE editions should be destroyed....but they do entertain Joe HighStreet Customer

well apart from the 6800LE which was good because you could unlock it :p

ATI previously released its 80nm RV570 Radeon X1950 Pro mid-range graphics card catered towards the $199 MSRP market. Joining the Radeon X1950 Pro will be a second 80nm product known as RV560.

The RV560 Radeon X1650XT is expected to launch next week with a core clock 575 MHz unlike the previously reported 450 MHz. It appears ATI is getting better yields than previously expected, although the Radeon X1650XT was originally expected for an end of August or beginning of September launch. Radeon X1650XT graphics cards will feature 256MB of GDDR3 clocked at 675 MHz on a 128-bit memory interface. The Radeon X1650XT is expected to have 24 pixel-shaders, 12 pipelines and 8 vertex shaders. Similar to the Radeon X1950 Pro, the X1650XT will also feature an internal connection for CrossFire.

There will be a variety of output configurations for Radeon X1650XT cards. These output configurations include dual dual-link DVI and S-Video, dual single-link DVI and S-Video and lastly dual-link DVI, VGA and S-Video. HDCP will be enabled on Radeon X1650XT graphics cards as well. It’s also theoretically possible to integrate an HDMI output, though that will be up to the graphics card manufacturers.

Radeon X1650XT is expected to launch next week with an MSRP of $149 to take on NVIDIA's 7600GT.

Looking at the benchies posted above, coupled with this news, we might just have a damn good card on our hands here.

Pretty sure ATi are gonna launch this with the X1950 Pro.

LMAO, true then I would always pick the 'Bees Knees Edition' at the mo I always get the god dam 'Bees Knees 101% Milking Money Edition' .... £60 ODD extra quid on release for another 'X' LOL reckon I was used to nvidia where the extra X actually means something!!!
