Im sure my x1800XT is majorly unperforming!

I get about 50 fps and loads of fps spikes where it drops to around 12 fps on games like CSS/HL2.

But my mate who basically has the same rig gets about 80-100 fps constant.. i dont understand.

Its not overclocked either
 
Could be anything.

-Video Drivers may be under-performing with certain games. (check on other forums for more info)
-Hard Drives may need defragging and removing unwated crap.
-Extra processes running in the background (such as Anti-virus, AOL etc) that use way to much memory.
-Trying to run at too high res with too much AA/AF and with too many graphics options set to High. (you didnt specify what res you run at) ;)

Just a few starting points. :)
 
I more the soundcard i had right underneath it down a few slots and moved the exhaust fan up, its moved up to about 90 fps.

Also uninstalled my omega drivers and used the offical ones :)

Seems better now :D
