x1800xt faulty?

I have tried a fresh install to check that its not any old drivers, etc, left behind from previous parts.

I have tried at stock speed, overclocked, increased voltages, but still get the same problem.

If i run 3dmark05/06 or virtually any other intensive graphics program I get the following error:
"IDirect3DDevice9:resent failed: Device lost (D3DERR_DEVICELOST)"

All temperatures seem to be fine, I've even stuck an extra 120mm fan over the graphics card just incase it was overheating.

I can play some games without any problems, eg counterstrike, although I have it set to play in openGL. Also i can play ut2k4 in all full settings without any problems, although sometimes the same problem will occur at the end or start of a map when the resolution changes.

This was happening before reformatting with dx9.0c, all latest drivers, cat 6.11. and since install as above but with the new cat 6.12's

I cant test the card in anybody elses PC as nobody I know has a pci-e board apart from me.

Nope, not running F@H, nor am i running anything else at all when i'm benchmarking, although the rest of the time i tend to leave the steam client open, also msn messenger.
