A lot of us took advantage of the pricing on the X1800XT over the last week or so. I thought it would be quite interesting to see what sort of overclocking results people are getting with the cards. Personally i just used the autodetect settings in the CCC overdrive panel. If i recall its something like 693/798 which to be honest i've no idea if its decent or not, not really knowing what the cards are meant to do.

i flashed mine to the pe bios which run's 100mhz more on the core and 100mhz more on the memory. checked my board to make sure it had 6 power resisters and away i flashed. so now i have a sapphire x1800 xt pe, ha ha. had no side effects whatsoever. i now score 10,056 in 3d05 on standard settings. :D

i can get my core to 700mhz but mem is being a prob and i cant get it over 770 this gets me 9.8k in 3dmark05

i 2 have the 6 power thingys :D but my max temps at 80c and i dont want to increse that temp anymore

im using a lil tool called "overclocker"

the ati ccc will only let me clock to 688mhz on the core not done mem

and ati tool wont let me get core over 640 with out artifacts :S (very strange as overclocker does)

im testing by running 3dmark05 once and then Counterstrike:source @ max settings

Does the PE bios alter the voltage at all?
Im interesed in lowering the voltage as much as I can without lowering the clocks.

yeah pe bios gives you a 3d speed of 700 gpu and 800 mem! ati tool does infact tel you there are artifacts very early on no matter what, there is no great tool to be honest for doing this yet

iv been using the overclocker program

its simple layout is great but can be tricky to use caus u have to incress core by 7mhz a time and mem at 9mhz a time

havent used the voltage changers yet as i want the max stable oc at stock volts

atm its about 702 on core and somthing like 760 on mem

im using riva tunner for monetaring of temps clocks and volts

I flashed my powercolor x1800xt 512 with the sapphire pe bios, and i get 9541 in 3dmark 05 :) . I could propably get it a bit higher, but I'm pleased...

thats my spec and im getting aroung 9.8k on 3dmark05

core = 702mhz
mem= 765

stock voltages

temps 80c give or take a few c

that is max oc with this card using the overclocker program

if i up the mem i get artifacts if i up the core i have to restart.

Try flashing with the pe bios, you should easily come over 10000 points then ;)

mine does 690/800 using ccc, which to be honest i'm pretty happy about, not sure i wanna try flashing the bios for an extra 10mhz
