Hello all,

I've replaced the cooler on my x1800xt with the accelero S1. In the persuite of silence I ran it passive. I then loaded up ATI tool for a stress test and was slightly conserned at the voltage regulator temp. It rose to 113 degrees C.

I've asked AMD Customer support buy they don't have access to the thermal limits for this component. AMD have chosed to keep that information private.

So, gurus of graphics hardware, what's the hottest you've run the voltage regulator on an x1800 or x1900 series card for extended periods?

Smile,
Chris.

i ran mine for a day at about 90c, i normaly try and keep it cooler.

i think 113c is probably well above sanity point. get a slow turning fan stick it on 5v and point it at the card. should be fine.

Too Hot, could be ok to 102C or 120C but still hot.

You can Google the part number of the chip and should find a datasheet.

I would put a small Sink on it.
