X1800XT & X550 :(:(:( HELP!!!!!

tried to do this and it just didnt work... waste of £60???

X1800XT in the 1st X16 slot
X550 in the 2nd X16 slot running at 2X

i thought this would work. should it??? well windows doesnt see it and it wont display anything on the boot...

wouldn't it just run at speed of slowest card? which is < than your x1800??

the manual says you can have one graphics card running at 16X and one at 2X.. but they are both X16 cards that prob why the X550 wont work

could it have anything to do with you running them both on an nvidia chipset?
i know you can run one ATI card on an nvidia chipset but not sure about two

well ive bought the bloody thing now lol... might just sell it and get an nvidia on and see what happens then.. but it doesnt say it has to be nvidia in the book

The ultra-D supports dual express graphics regardless of manufacturers. Have you set the motherboard jumpers correctly?

ROFL!! thought ithis was about Crossfire, was thinking wtf an x550 as a slave to an x1800, ******* hell why!!! as the x1800 will default to a x550. way to cripple a card.

Why not get a £1 PCI card.

yea the jumpers are on single. which in the book says that this should be used for the Dual Express Graphics thingy. so i really dont know why it isnt working.
