X1800XT, Your Benchmarks here...

mines completely stable at 700/800. there's no point doing it if it's not.

what kind of scores do you get with that GT of yours?

I play with those clocks when i'm gaming.

When i'm benching, highest i've been to is 750/920 but at those clocks i was getting some slight artifacting due to the memory being clocked too high.

With the settings in my sig I can get to just over 10500 in 3dmark05 and about 5200 in 06. At that level it's completely gaming stable and artifact free (and i can get it up to 630/1800 stably for pretty much everything but Oblivion). If I work the nuts off it though I can get to over 11,000 and 5,500 without having to up the CPU any more, but I can't play more than a handful of games without it artifacting like mad.

Yeah i get around your scores, got an A64 3500+. :)
Makes sense. I think these CPUs are definitely a little slow for this card. :) I am thinking of overclocking my CPU but I've never done it before, and I can't even find the HT and memory divider settings in the BIOS for this motherboard. I could find them easily on my old Asus.

Bit of a noob question here, but i'm getting one of these cards soon. How much of a bottleneck would my 3500+ be running at 2.7ghz

Virtually none. Only in a couple of games will the need for CPU power rival or exceed the need for graphics power (assuming you're playing at 1280x1024 or more). And at 2.7ghz you're fine at pretty much everything (barring perhaps Oblivion). Now if you went crossfire you might start to get a bottleneck, but you'd be through the roof already so you'd hardly notice it.

As above, actually performs brilliantly in Oblivion, im playing it 1280x1024 (TFT), 2xAA/8xAF, HDR on, and everything maxed, just got the actor fade, and object fade etc... left as they were already set (default settings), and its running fine, i thought it would crawl when i finally got out of the sewars as ive just started it, but no, its running great. :)

They are bottlenecked, but they can still run everything maxed out, i played Fear/CoD2 etc... maxed with no problems at all, stonking cards you'll love it, i went to it from an x800 XT PE and was blown away by the performance increase. :)

Actualyl if you check out a lot of the benchmarks that were posted on various websites you will see that pretty much in every test the x1800xt came in the top 3 for that game! :D I dont know why tbh as I beleive both the x1900xtx and x1800xt use similar technolgy but I think it must just be the driver optimations for the x1800xt are a step ahead!

This card is possibly the BIGGEST bargain on the net! Even though I bought mines for £370 around the same time as Loadsa I have toadmit I am soooooo happy with it.....its a great performer :D

Totally agree. Really pleased with my X1800XT.

As said, My X1800 too runs Oblivion no problem at all with high levels of detail.

hmmmmmmm considering your stock score is 8500 man its relatively low wheras your 3dmark06 version is probably correct!

anyways heres my score

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=1976022

9462 with the 690core and 800mem! not touched the cpu here but i feel i could break the 10k mark with a bit of work on both the gpu and the cpu :D just dont like pu8shing it to the limits!

p.s cant be bothered running both 05 and 06 on stock cores right now but i know that the 05 score is 91xx which is fairly good for stock speeds and the 06 one falls around 39xx or 40xx
