As title guys, I've got an ati radeon x1900 running in my rig at the minute. Yet I've noticed it's no longer sold, only an x1950. I was looking to boost my graphics power (and perhaps run my second monitor) by running two cards, but I no longer think this is possible.

Could I perhaps flash the x1900 with an x1950 bios and then buy an x1950 card?

Spec Below:

AMD X2 4800
Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe
2gb G.Skill pc3700
ATI Radeon x1900

So what are my options?

Cheers,
Ant

Thanks for the swift and insightful replies guys. It seems then that I should spend the extra cash and get an HD3870.

What are your views on the current system spec, if I team this with the new gfx card will I be able to run most modern games very well? (Thinking more of the recent, rescource hungry ones like crysis)

whatever you do dont upgrade now, the new intel processors are gonna be here within a month or two and they are even faster, less heat, more overclockable, etc, etc. they are also faster clock for clock against the conroes so very efficient, they also use less electricity, upgrade your card, and start saving for a new system, you dont wanna cheap out when it comes to a full upgrade, although to be honest, your current cpu is about the same as a 2.2ghz core 2 duo, which is still fast in my books, so maybe even upgrade it all in 6 months?

Sound, sound advice. Much appreciated cheers

I'm more than willing to be patient. I'm in no rush. I just like sparkly new things :)

Think I shall see what the next few months have to offer.

Thanks guys,
Ant
