X1900 vs. X1800 @ Low Res

im running a Opti 170, 2GB Mushkin PC4000 RAM & DFI-Ultra-D. on a 17" (10ms) LCD @ 1280x1024. will the X1900XTX be a waste at such low resolutions. should i get the the X1800XT and save myself £100

running games such as

FEAR
CS:S
HL2
COD2
DOOM3


will i still mange high settings at 1280x1024 on a X1800XT or will it struggle
 
it will give a half decent boost in FEAR but prolly not the other games. I'd save myself the £100 tbh.
