X1900 XT Help!

Hi, I just got a X1900 XT, and I haven't got a power supply with an SLI connector. I'm unsure if this card works, but should it at least power on and give me a warning sign on the screen to tell me it has no power?

The fan spins up to full speed, and both of the diagnostic LEDs light up red (error and power)

Any help is appreciated!

As I remember, without the pci-e power connector, you either get a quick warning, or nothing just a beep.

It's a much older card, but with my 9800 Pro when the power isn't plugged in I get a red error saying it's not plugged in.

You do get an error if the power isn't plugged in, I did with mine.

If I don't connect the extra 6-pin connector to my X1950 I get a nice big red message on a black screen telling me of it!
