Well I finally ditched the stock cooler on my noisey X1900 XTX my idle temps have dropped by 20c at the lowest fan speed but i dont know whether it will cope at low speed during gaming. What fan speed are other X1900 owners using?
Thanks
Scott

wow, 20 degrees? Is that across the board (idle and load) or just at load? I did have the fan controller and adjusted slow/max in windows/gaming but I've just connected it to mobo fan header (now max) I got about 4 degrees lower at idle, generally I can't get it to reach 85, think 65 at the most.

Mine used to idle at around 65c now its 45c although i have the side off the case so it will go up slightly when i put it on

wow that idle sounds way too hot (probably bad stock HSF contact) mates X1800XT idles at 48 in a MATX case. My 1900XT idled at 38-41, depending if I switch on case side fan.
