Play at 1280x1024 and normally have no problems at full detail, however ArmA arrived today and nobbled my graphics card... it struggles! :D

AMD Opteron [email protected]
2GB (2x1GB) GEIL
HIS X1900Pro 600/1300
450w Antec TruPower

The graphics card appears to be the bottleneck and I don't want to change my PSU so a 8800 is out of the question.

So, for a stop gap is the 1950XT worth it and would I notice a considerable difference?

What's the second hand value of my HIS Silent X1900 Pro?
 
i wouldnt bother, the difference would be minimal

just save and buy a 8800gts, can get a 320mb for 200 now

and if you like gaming you will need to buy a new psu eventually as dx10 is on its way

my advice = save and buy later

Agreed, and if your PSU you have will power an x1950 XT then it should power the GTS as well, you would be wasting your money on the x1950, worthless old tech now those. :)
 
I didn't want to have to rewire a PSU, my case is ultra tidy and I know for a fact if I get an upgrade I'll just throw it in and cause mayhem! :D

Whens ATi/AMD's DX10 stuff coming?

R600's rumoured to be May/June and be 300w, also rumours are they are releasing the slowest R600 first with 512mb Ram lol. :D

Yup, same with hinting about prices being lower elsewhere.

Does anybody read the FAQ at all anymore? :confused:
