X1900XT 512 Clocking

My my, i was pleasanlty surprised yesterday - i am now running at 668 and 798 clock speeds on air. HOWEVER - there has been no change to any FPS in any game and also my 3dMark 05 score has dropped 200points - er - wtf? im using CCC and have run the automated clocking utility - which gives those results. Do i have to do something in particular to 'turn the results on' as it were? im confused - i have ati tray installed too but havent used it yet.

Can someone please explain why i get great clocks and NO results and if i have to do something in particular to get them to work?

I also get the same, I loose point in 3d mark 06 when I push my card to the max.

715core and 870mem is no faster than 695core and 830mem.
I use ATI Tool not CCC.
Got an artic coling x2 cooler on it.

well that is interesting - its just so strange to get such increases in clock speeds and have no results to show for it!

CCC drops memory timings, and I wouldn't be surprised if that was what caused the point drop.

Get rid off CCC, install ATi Tray Tools, follow my guide.

Set AA and AF to app controlled and quality to high performance.

I normally disable the ati stuff in and don't use CCC at all and I've set all those sliders to high performance.

If i remember rightly @ 695core and 830mem I get 6250 3dmark 06 and with it clocked any higher it'll score less ? weird I know !

Highest I've run was 720core and about 870mem ! with only mild volt tweeks,
think it didn't even score 6100 on 3d mark 06! get loads od graphical glitches if the mem is over 860mhz.

PSU is a Corsair 620hx so power isn't an issue.

well i guess that when i get home ill get rid of CCC and then try just using Ati Tray Tools - ill see what happens then - i used to be able to clock the card when i had CCC and no Ati Tray tools installed so it could be a confilict between the two peices of software - i dunno - anyway - ill update once ive done it - cheers for the advice - roll on 5:30.
