Got me new X1900XT up and running this evening and so far I'm quite impressed. I'm obviously using the drivers on the supplied disc and I've tried COD2 and FEAR. My old X1800XL would struggle in COD2, but this card runs so well, I went into the options to check if I was set to DX7, but it was still DX9! with: 1280 x 1024, 2 xAA, 8 x AF, everything on in the game options incuding shadows and soft smoke, it doesn't seem to drop below 45 fps (thats when I actually looked at fraps).
FEAR would appear to run a lot better also roughly the same settings in game, but the framerate is more up and down and it still "staggers" from time to time, but I think this is down to the game rather than setup/drivers.
I also get 10557 in "05", but its bombs out in "03"
I can't remember if the card is overclocked though 'cos the clocks seem a bit ambiguous, but I'm currently setting up the overcrive thingy, so when that finishes, I'll try benching again and see how I get on.
As a sidenote, Far cry runs superbly, with everything in the game menu maxed out.

At stock the CCC is reporting me clocks as 500/600! Thats without running the overdrive proggy to set me max clocks. if I run the overdrive test it raises the clocks, but on restart it resets them to 500/600.
I'm trying "ati tool 0.25 beta 13" atm and that seems to do better job with holding the clocks after restart. I've set the clocks to 625/725 which is stock and get 10557 in "05" and I'm gonna do some more benching today in "03" and "06". What do ppl here think I could get this card up to core and memory and what voltages (core and memory) are usually needed for stability?

Yup the 2D clocks are 500/600, look at the requested. There is the option to preserve ATi Overdrive settings at logon
Cheers for that mate. When I had me old X1800XL, I didn't go anywhere near the CCC overclocking option (I kept it greyed out totally) and just used atitool to do it and it worked like a charm, so I'll stick with that until summat better comes along.
Any idea how high this card will go?

My overdrive isnt exact it seems - I just did an arbitrary o/c of 50% and it states my requested core and memory are about 5mhz higher than attained figure for each.

Going to check in 3dmark whether this is an ok clock

i use atitool for setting my overclock when windows starts and i have seen no problems yet
