X1900XT Drivers - Control Panel Problems

Hi

I just got a Saphire X1900XT, upon a fresh install of Win2k, i downloaded the lastest catalyst drivers from ATi site.

I installed the .Net garbage first, then the Ati combined 'control panel/driver'

Upon reboot the driver appears to be working, but i cannot start the control panel, either from the desktop shortcut or the context menu, or the start menu.

When i look in task manager all i see are instances of Cli.exe starting, then after 5-10 seconds dissapearing.

Ive not had an Ati card since the Radeon 9550 series, and going by what ive seen so far, i'm not impressed at all.

If anyone has experienced the same, and/or knows how to get the control panel working, PLS TELL ME!

Never heard of that myself, but you could give this a try here which i found about it.

Sorted the prob

Turns out the first time i fired up control panel, it tried to access 127.0.0.1 (reported by Kerio Firewall) to which i had denied access.

Went back and allowed it access to that addresss (think its localhost) and it works perfectly.

Apart from when i disabled the atixxxx thing in services which disabled the overclocking feature in the control panel....

u live and learn.

Conclusion, gonna uninstall that .net crap and control panel and use Atitool.

Yeah lots of ppl use ATi Tray Tools or an old CP, glad your sorted it though.
