X1900XT HIS - Driver?

I Guess that yout looking at the speeds in the CCC which are correct, those are the 2D desktop speeds, it goes to 3D speeds when you start gaming, the requested ones. :)

Now prepare for a barrage of  as this question is asked about 100 million times a day even though its in the sticky. :D

Ok where, because i can't see anything on this, i never mentioned anything about speeds being wrong (hell i dont even know the speeds of this card), i just asked whether there are special drivers that i should install?

So try reading before you beat people down.

Sorry i didn't beat you down  , you said how do i get the speeds it should have, therefore i took that as you have the wrong speeds as your asking for the speeds it should have, so i assumed you were looking in the ATi Overdrive section of the CCC at the 2D speeds, which i think i won't be the only one, my apologies.

No special drivers at all are needed, they will all show the clock speeds, if you install the full pacakge from ATi/AMD site, they will be in the CCC (Catalyst Control Centre) where you do all your AA/AF setting etc... they will be in the ATi Overdrive section. :)

Sorry....im a bit short at the moment, its like the 6th time i have reinstalled this week.

I think i have finally got it right, and just wanted to check i had the right drivers.

Seen as i dont use any of the extra stuff (CCC or w/e - so i can't check speeds anyways). I just download the drivers and use those. I just wanted to make sure i have the right drivers for my card.

Ahh you don't use CCC, yeah you can just download the drivers on their own, and then you can grab ATi Tray Tools from Guru3D to do all your AA/AF settings instead of the proper CCC, will also show you the temps. :)

Sorry, maybe i havent explained myself very well.

I have a X1900XT (His version with slightly higher clock speeds i think).

My question is, should i be using different drivers because it is the HIS card, or should i just be using the default drivers from the ati site?

You may have already answered the question in what you said, but i just want to be sure :)

You can just use the default drivers from the ATi site, you don't just have to use the drivers supplied by HIS, they will just be ATi's drivers anyway, but they will be an old set of drivers now, so grab the latest from ATi. :)

I believe there is also a bundled overclocking utility from HIS that gives you a standard overclock on the card.

Ok, well i have installed the standard drivers and i get this:

And if i want to overclock my gfx card, do i have to have a seperate program running all the time? or can i just install the program, change the settings adn leave it?

The unknown device is for the WDM driver which you can get seperately from ati/amds site >>HeRe<<

Ah, thanks mate.

============

I now want to start overclocking my card.

I have set the PCI Express Lane to 105Mhz as suggested in the sticky.

I am guessing i should use ATI Tool to overclock the card. My question is, is there a way to have the overclock without ATI Tool running?

So that i can overclock and uninstall the program if i wanted and it still have the overclock?
