X1900XT not switching to 3D clocks when playing WOW

I subscribed to wow again the other day and I noticed that I am getting fairly low framerates than what I remember it use to be like so I looked into it and I noticed that the core and memory clocks are staying at 2D speeds when the game is running. I wanted to see if this was happening with other games so I ran the Stalker beta and it was working fine. I have tried both the 7.2 and 6.8 drivers but its still the same.

Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?

Are you running it in Windowed mode? Sorry, not very familiar with WOW.

as said - 3d clocks on fire up in fullscreen 3D. if your running windowed, it will sit on 2D. then again, wow works fine for me an an X1800XT 2d clocks with 1280*1024 max details 4x fsaa.

also note that if you minimaise a fullscreen app, the cart will almost always drop to 2d clocks again untill you re-maximise the app

Yes, I do run in fullscreen windowed mode so I guess this is the reason why its happening.

Also remeber that some games run in False fullscreen mode, thats caught me out a few times.
