I've noticed i can get the ATI HIS IceQ x1900xt 256MB for 187.99.
I can also get the Sapphire X1950XT 256MB for the same price.

Which one should i get? I had set my heart on an iceQ, but seeing the added clock speeds for the same price on the Sapphire why should I not change my mind? Help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Thanks for clearing it up...

But having posted this i have now just seen all the talk about DX10... Does anyone have an unbiased view as to whether it worth me delaying my upgrade?

Bearing in mine is am still using a GeForce 3 and want to upgrade now, would it be worth getting a cheap pci-e card that does its job for a few months on all current games, and then getting a DX10 card when the launch price has dropped and games are coming out for it?

Partially depends on the rest of your system & how much you are willing to pay for the card. The G80 will likely be twice the cost of the X1950XT you mentioned. If thats too much to pay then get the X1950XT now & then in a couple of years go DX10 when it will be worthwhile.

The other Spec:

Intel e6600
Geil 2gig PC6400 CAS4
ASUS P5W Deluxe
Antec Titan Case with included 550W power supply

I am totally out of the loop on DX10, have no idea what will and won't be compatible with it, but if you are putting a timescale (potentially I know) as long as 2 years on it then i will probably get the x1950xt.

Price i am unsure on, i personally refuse to pay more than 400 for a card (only exceptional circumstances would i pay over 300), so the launch of the DX10 range would be well out my budget

Any comments on the spec in general would be welcomed, even if only to say that i'm not making any huge errors. Thanks

The rest of your spec is great, no problems there. Any card you get will do well with it. There will be no DX10 only games for a while yet (that could be 1-2 years). Also, so far the differences between DX10 & DX9 look to be minimal. If going DX10 you will also need to pay for Vista. I ceratianly wont be getting a DX10 card for a while yet. The other thing people talk about is whether the G80 will be fast enough to comfortably play DX10 only games when they are out in a couple of years time. By then it will be a low end DX10 card. Sure it is very quick in DX9 games, but you have to pay a lot to get that performance. If you saved half the money now (instead of buying the G80) & purchased a DX9 card, in a year or so that 200 pounds will be able to buy you a new DX10 card that will likely be quicker than the G80.
If there were lower range DX10 cards coming sooner, that of course would be a different story.

Thanks very much, thats me sorted then, i was leaning towards that and think my mind is made up.

Just have to wait for the antec Titan to be back in stock here before i can put all my beautiful parts in the machine :(. The waiting game sucks...
