both very similar prices. What are peoples thoughts on which is better?

x1900xt or x1950xt

X1950XT is better but only due to the extra speed of the GDDR4 memory... bar that there identicle... the X1900XT performs +-5% slower in pretty much every game and benchmark..., not really justifying the extra outlay for the X1950...

ahh yes... GDDR4 memory consumes less power, but again... is it really worth the extra cash?

x1950 XT is only GDDR3 Ram.
Very important question here, what resolution are you running at?
Lots of people on here are making out that there is little or no performance improvement with the X1950 cards over the X1900. At "standard" resolutions of say 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 this is indeed the case.
However, if you are running a high resolution display such as 2560x1600, you will see much more improvement running X1950 in Crossfire.
