In a standard Conroe system, will an Antec 450W PSU be enough to power this system?

450w psu lol for that system would be a joke.

580w should be the minimum for that system and for perfection a 600w
 
Should be OK, although adding more HDDs etc or overclocking might start to put strain on it.

Wouldn't go with a Maxtor hard-drive either.

The Seagate 7200.10s are the drives of choice at the moment. Quiet, good warranty (5 years), and the best performance this side of a Raptor. :)
