X1900XT Power Requirements?

just wonder what the exact power requirements are for 1900XT Xfired Google didn't bring up much any help would be appreciated.

on the box of my HIS X1900XT it says:

"Radeon X1900 CrossFire configurations require a 550 Watt capacity with 38 amps curent on the 12V rail"

also you need two PCI express 6 pin power connectors.

I think even a 550 w PSU is pushing it with an x1900 Xfire setup IMO

yeh agree with easyrider, but it depends on how many HDDs, PCI cards etc you have got. But two X1900s at say full load, and overclocked, 550W is pushing it

Indeed the majority of people have more than one HDD.soundcard etc...

600 w minimum for xfire if you ask me.

i have a Hiper 580W Type-R

this is part of the spec sheet from the official website it also has a peak load of 630w.

Not many 500 - 600 PSUs with 38 amps on +12v, I always thought they assumed PSUs were generic but evidently not..

Also that Hiper doesn't say whether that is 20A and 18A available on each, or whether it is combined, I very much doubt it is combined.
