Hi guys, just built my first system and having proper problems with the x1900xt, I'm currently using the asus a8r32-mvp deluxe board but have also tried it with a asus a8r-mvp.

I've managed to get the system up and running with a proper old pci card with a massive 4mb of memory!!! System is running fine, however the system refuses to boot with the xt in place, this is the same on both boards. When the system is powered up both of the lights on the card light up for a few seconds but then go out, the fan stays at full speed aswell. I'm not sure if i've used the correct cable to connect or not, when i first tried it i was using a cable supplied with my PSU, it was a pci cable reccommended for xfire and sti, but have also tried connecting it with the supplied 4 pin cable and tried to connect it with a standard molex as well as trying it with a vga cable. Like i say this is the same on both boards.

Finally i have tried it in both pci-x slots on the motherboard, although i don't know which is the master slot, as it doesn't actually tell you in the manual which one is the master, it just shows it with the crossfire set-up.

Please help, i've got this fantastic system here, and the best i can get out of it is running firefox!!!

yep it's definatly single rail, tried both connections. Only got a dvi cable, just out of interest what cables did you use to connect the card to psu??

I had same prob with same board and same card.......exactly the same symptom.

I had connected the the PSU to board with the EATXPWR connector but hadnt connected up to theATX 12v connector aswell. :(
As soon as i did connect it up all was fine. :)
