Would those graphics cards be ok for cooling and power in a case like the Antec Sonata II Piano Black Quiet Case - 450W Smart Power PSU?

Sure thing, some crazy people stick them into shuttle PC's :)

Thats sweet man, means I could buy a crappy case and psu and get a killer cpu and X1900XT/X insted of spending 200 on a case and psu, its only got to last a few months, then I will splash out on the case and psu.
Though I am still unsure, may end up going cheaper on the graphics and cpu and getting a better case and psu first time round.

The ATI's chucks the air outside, so as long as the air that's inside the case isn't warm should be ok. Have at least one case fan on the front if possible.

Yup you can put the £200 towards your PhysX card instead. :D

Hehe well any spare cash after this build, its going to be spent down the pub.
I don't think there is any need for them cards just yet.

Guys can this card be clocked to the same speed as the XT-X version easy?

PowerColor ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

I have no reason to suspect it couldnt.

But remember all cards overclock differently, there are good and bad ones.

/Oh my ive posted out of Case Central, I feel faint.

I've never had spare cash after a build, I always go over the budget :D

I wish someone would answer my question about the overclocking the card hehe. :p
It has already been answered by Yewen. If XTX speeds are so important, buy the XTX. There is no guarantee or warranty that the XT will clock to XTX speeds, so if it does - you're in luck. Otherwise, you're not. It's that simple. :)

Agreed. But the question you're asking cannot be answered.

There is no sure fire certainty with ANY manufacturer card that it will do XTX speeds. It is totally pot luck.

I was hoping maybe someone here had used that card before and tested it out, I know there is not a certainty mate, I am just interested as it will most likely be the card I purchase, and there is a hell of a lot of clockers and people who know a lot about this kind of stuff on here hehe.

The card you have listed on another forum I post on has 3 users running above what you want.

But it is all pot luck.

I have the 400w antec case/psu and it runs my x1800xt fiine so i imagine 50 exra watt should manage?

Also i recomend u get a diff coolor for it as my x1800xt is quite hot and not 2 quiet but a good card indeed imo.

Get a cheap case and a GOOD psu while u have the money then when it coems to it get a good case, psu more important that looks imo never lan or anythign is stuck under my desk lmao:)

its highly probable that it will, because many have allready, but there is no guarantee.
