Hi,

I have purchased an Abit IL9 Pro and noticed that beside that x16 PCIE slot there is a 4 pin molex connector that looks the same as the power connectors for DVD/HD etc.

My question is this:

Would I be able to install my Graphics card and plug a power cable from the PSU into the mobo and it will power the graphics card even though ATI advises that you purchase an SLI compatible PSU and plug it in directly to the graphics card?

Please help as I really dont want to be buying a new PSU too.

Hi m8 - if I dont have a PSU that has a SLi power connector (the same as the graphics card power connector) would I be just to use the molex connector to power my graphics card?

That 4 pin plug on the motherboard is the power to the CPU. Nothing to do with graphics.

Make sure you follow instructions on the PSU, don't fit wrong power cables into the wrong connectors.
