x1900xtx not overclocking

hey guys, looking at my xtx in the CCC and its showing the the current VPU clock is at 500 and memory clock is at 594.

Any time i change these it only changes it in the requested clock and never follows through in the actual clock.

Has anyone got any idea what im doing wrong or any guides that can help me.

these cards have 2d and 3d clocks.

the 500/594 clock is your 2d clock and wont go up anyway unless you use ati tool or ati clocker, then there is your 3d clock = requested clock
once your graphics card enters anything 3d its fanspeed will go up and the requested clock will be used.
