just got a new 22" widescreen monitor and i am looking to upgrade my gfx card, specs below, reading thru the posts theres many good things said about the x1950 card and i dont want to spend too much, so what version should i go for and would i benefit from the 512mb version or is the 256 good enough for my pc? Is any particular brand better than another brand ?

I play HL2 at the moment but i am interested in playing cod4 and the likes.

belinea 2225 22" monitor
Leadtek winfast geforce 6800 LE - GFX CARD
p4 cpu
1gb ocz pc4400 ram heatsink 2 x 512 dual channel
win xp mce
seasonic 430w psu

my setup is a htpc and i need it quiet so would my zalman vf900 cooler fit this card, the passive cooled x1950 is a good bit more expensive.

Go for the 512MB version, as the resolution you will be capable of running at with a 22" will need the extra RAM. I have the 256 cos i only run at 1280x1024 (17" TFT) so max settings doesnt hurt it.

cheers for the replies guys but i really cannot afford a more expensive card, i just bought a HIS x1900xt 512mb in mm for £60 so this will be a good upgrade for me from the 6800le.

now i need a new mobo with a pci-e slot :D
