I have a X1950 PCI-e 512MB. and the latest Ati drivers on a fresh install of windows.

This works perfectly in all games and 3Dmark.

As soon as I turn AA on, it bombs out after 10-15mins, sending me back to the windows desktop. It runs 3Dmark03 fine with AA turned on, but anything newer bombs out.
It appears to be worst on 4AA setting, anything higher or lower lasts a bit longer.

With AA off it will happily run 5-6 hours non stop.

Theres Also a Set of Drivers By DNA, I'm sure you could give those a whirl too, maybe what you're after.

I tried them with my 1950pro, but mine was Artefacting before I installed those, And it Artefacted afterwards,So I couldn't say if they were an improvement.

"DNA-ATi 5.0.7.1-Guru3d.com].exe"

I was experiencing the same thing last night when testing my X1900XT 512MB. It's not conclusive yet as I was having issue the whole night with my CPU/RAM overclock, but since i've stuck a 120mm fan over my NB and put the AA down to 2x, everything has been fine.

I'll run the CNC3 demo to which was freezing in game with 4x AA in a bit and let you know how I get on.

Have you checked that the X1950 card is not overheating....And has no dust clogging the heatsink fins up...Check your cpu heatsink & any motherboard heatsinks for dust at the same time..

As putting 4xAA settings on is a lot more load for the video card to handle.so it's going get a fair bit hotter..
