I'm looking to buy the best available AGP card I can get for around £120. Looking at the Overclockers site, I can see that there are two decent ATi cards in this price range.

They both seem to be fairly simliar but the x1950 costs more than the 2600xt , is there a reason for this

Which would you recommend?
ATi X1950 or ATi 2600XT

thanks for any help guys and gals :D

X1950 would be a fair bit faster. 2600XT is better for media work than gaming.

interesting , so is there any certain thing that makes the x1950 faster as the 2600 looks like it has slightly better specs, im no such genius on this but it does seem confusing

why not look at the 3000 series agp card
i know its beyond the budget but it mite prove a better investment
provinding the rest of your rig is up to the task of not bottlenecking it

The memory bus screws the card the most, it would be a pretty decent little performer if it wasn't so starved of memory bandwidth.
