I am going for a new setup this new year and its goinna be an intel system with an overclocked e6300 on a ds3 mobo with 2gb of either crucial or ocz memory..

but what I cant decide on is the graphics cards.. I see u can now pick up the 7900gs for as little as 120 quid, with the x1950 being similarly priced..

but which one is best, I am a big fan of my strategy games and intend of playing a lot of Company of heroes..

should I sway any particular way or would both cards meet my needs, in which case I would go with which would look better through the window of my case!!

any thoughts on this dilemma... :D

Well, Probably a good 70% of us with the X1950 are running conroe and ATI with no problems. Just a smoothe, high FPS gaming environment. Thanks ATI

brilliant, thats me sold then, I love the styling on the HIS x1950 pro, should look pretty peachy alongside the OCZ ram.. thanks

Don't forget to drop by on the official x1950 pro thread, we grow by the minute. MWHAHAHAHA

no probs, how do u find ** Geil pc6400 RAM? I really cant decide between that and OCZ stuff... :D

looks like u can get tighter timings and higher voltages with Geil mind..

I haven't O/Clocked yet, waiting for better cooling to arrive. But for stock, it's dead easy. Stick both strips in, straight into BIOS, up voltage +.03V, and manually adust timings. Nice benchmark in Sisoftware sandra too!

a lot can change in 3 to 4 months time in the gfx card market. best to post this question the day before you have to make your purchase.

In that case get the Connect3D ATI Radeon X1950 XT 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - its faster than any X1950Pro.
