ok ppl i need help from you guys with big brains !
i have a ge-force 4 ti 4600 and i cant play company of heroes or oblivion cause my card is so old. i want to buy the X1950 pro AGP to prolong my agp computers life.
i have a 410 watt psu. it has 23 Amps on the +12V rail. now because this card has 2 molex connectors supplying extra power would it run on my psu.

Welcome to the forums. :)

Id say it will run fine, as im running an x1800 XT 512mb fine on a 520w PSU that has only got 1x 12v rail which is only 20amps, and the x1950pro uses a lot less power. :)

I can't give you hard figures - but if your running the average P4 or AMD XP system and put an x1950 pro in then your peak power requirement would be ~230watt, and aslong as you can get 18+ AMP on the 12v rail then you should be good to go.

As i said it should run it fine, ive only got 1x 12v Rail with 20 amps, and it handles all my rig fine, and my x1800 XT eats power, uses a helluva lot more than the x1950 pro. :)

If you want more reassurance, then ask in here :)

My Antec PP-412XF 400w Psu has following specs +3.3 28A | +5 40A | +12 18A.

The rest of my system is E6600 @3GHZ, P5W DH, 2GB GSkill HZ, CD & DVD Writer, WD 320GB HD.

I too would like an ATI 1950 512MB Pro but doubt whether my psu would power it. If it doesn't work I would have sooner bought an XT along with a new Psu...but then I don't really want to waste £90 on a new psu if I can get away with a Pro.

if you are reading this i would appreciate it if you could comment on this as it may be helpfull - also if you have a x1950 pro agp what psu do you have

if you are reading this thread i would like to hear what you think?

your psu is more than enough to run the x1950pro, someone has posted a review in a different thread that shows a 300w psu with 18a on the 12v rail working fine with the x1950pro.

so your psu could be classed as overkill :D

Received my PowerColor ATI Radeon X1950 Pro Extreme SILENT Heatpipe 256MB from ocuk today: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-064-PC

My previous card was a passively cooled 6200, after fitting the 1950 I can't notice any difference in noise levels. So my pc is still nice and quiet.

Also, everything seems to be working great with my Antec 400W PSU which has just one 18A 12V rail.

System specs:
E6600|Scythe Ninja 5V Fanmate|2GB GSkill HZ|320GB WD HD|P5W DH|DVD-RW|ATI 1950 Pro 256|18A 400W Antec PSU (With Quiet Fan Mod).
