X1950 PRO Drivers

sorry but who let you loose on a pc? is it not blindingly obvious? :p

but yes those are the correct ones - assuming you're running xp (infact you could use those drivers for win2000 and 2003 server as well). :)
 
Well funny you should say that, I was a novice. But slowly getting there :P

In the graphics forum, they said use the 7.2 version. Cant see it tho.
 
ignore that comment about the 7.2s. that's daft talk. it's always best to keep upto date. :)

the 7.x indicates the month they came out. the 7.2s are from february - the 7.9s are of course september.
 
Nomally you'd start with the latest and work back to earlier drivers if you encounter a problem say with a game.
 
Still cant open the catalyst control center, iam still getting an error when I boot up :(

Not sure how to find out about NET framework, anyone?
 
I tried installing/re-installing these drivers a number off times. Would it be best to uninstall all ATI stuff then run something like ccleaner.

Install net framework then try again?
 
you shouldn't need to re-install the drivers. just install that package. it won't prompt you to reboot when it's done but do it anyway. then the CCC should start properly next time round.
 
ATI CCC won't start without dotnet2. I'm pretty certain I've received the exact same message when I've forgotten to install dotnet before the CCC, but it's pretty simple:

install dotnet2.
install Ati drivers & CCC.

doesn't even need to be in that order :)
 
I just put together a comp for my dad and got the same MOM error. Installed the up to date ATI 7.9 drivers and Catalyst Control Centre.

CCC needs Net framework 2.0 to work, it tells you so when installing CCC.
 
Woop, yeh its works. Install Net framework then just installed 7.9 CCC overwriting the older version.

Strange looks like my pc thinks it has x2 graphics cards :S
