Hey,

After researching into controlling the fan speed for my ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB, I seem to have come to a dead end - with people saying that it's simply not possible.

I managed to control the speed of other fans on my computer, while keeping the temperatures low. My PC would be near silent if it wasn't for the noise my graphics card fan makes.

Is there any possible way I can control the fan speed of my X1950 Pro?

Chris

Hello Chris4,

Welcome to OcUK forums! :)

If your fan has a three-wire-lead you should be able to adjust the fan speed using something like Rivatuner, if the fan has a two-wire-lead I think your out of luck!

I had a few X1950 Pros in the past and afaik remember they were all fan adjustable . . . . what manufacturer made your card then?

Yeah just a 2-wire (red and black) cable :(

Can you buy the extra wire and modify it somehow?

Or is the only option to get a different graphics card?

what manufacturer made your card then?

I actually got it from OcUK. The full product name is:

1 x OcUK ATI Radeon X1950 Pro 256MB GDDR3 HDTV/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
