Really eager to get my hands on one of these, and was really hoping to get one by the end of October, but it doesn't look like thats going to happen :(

Any further news on the release date (ie: More specific then early November ;))? I don't like pre-ordering things and wait for them to be released, especially saying since I also need a new HD (looking at a 250GB Seagate) and maybe even a new KB/Mouse. Thing is, is the pro-order 'limit' reached? (As it had been quickly with Conroes). As I said, I don't like pre-ordering, but I don't want to wait longer than I already have for a new card - running on a X300, been waiting almost a year for the 'right' card to come along and this looks like it ;)

So yeah, in summary, any news on the release date? And would it be wise to pre-order? :)

Also, is the 512mb model worth it? Bearing in mind I'd be looking this card to last roughly 2 years, as the current one has done.

If you mean AGP, then yes the X1950pro is going to be your best bet.
256MB should still be fine, even in 2 years time i should think.
As for preordering - depends on how many of these cards there will be (if limited stock) & if you want the card quickly, then yes i would preorder.
