Hi,

I just recieved a second ahnd x1950Pro made by Sapphire with the standard slimline cooler.

It so far seems to play Americas army ok, but when I try to run 3dMark2006 free edition on it the first 2 times it artifacted and then restarted my PC after about 15 seconds of the first movie, then on the 3rd attempt it artifacted almost immediately with yellow and blue checkerboard accross the screen.

Has anyone heard of such problem with the x1950Pro, am I being optimistic thinking there is a possibility it is some sort of conflict with 3dmark and the current ATI drivers.

I am using the latest ATI made catalyst drivers from 13th August.

any advice appreicated :(

Can anyone suggest a game demo that I can get my hands on that I could test the same features as 3dmark2006 uses ?? Would stalker be a good one?

check the mosfets, if im not mistaken x1950pro cards had overheating mosfets which later were sorted by having a heatsink on them from the factory.

edit : by mosfets i mean the vrm, voltage regulation modules ned the end of the card where the power connector is.

check them in what way? lol they are still there, I guess you mean check if they are burning hot?

It doesn't seem like this is a 3dmark06 bug as i have now tried it with medieval total war2 and another game and it crashes almost immediately 3d is used :(

EDIT: by crashing I mean the fans all spin up to full and my system hangs and has to be manually shutdown by holding the power button for 5-10 seconds

where exactly is the artifact tester? is it under the overclocking section? As I disabled that when I installed it.
It is Ray adams Ati Tray Tool you are talking about right?

I remember there being one when I used it several years ago but I can't seem to find it now
