Im curious to know and since a lot of ppl have the diff versions of this card can we get a agp vs pci-e thread going with benchmark scores to see if theres much difference between the two types.

So lets see if we can get agp vs pci-e 3d mark 05 and 06 benchmarks going. State driver versions and full system specs also please. As im thinking of getting a x1950pro 512mb HIS but im hearing a lot of problems with the card and slow speeds so im very interested in these benchies and i hope you will participate in this thread so all the wanabe x1950 pro owners can make their own mind up if to get this card or not.

The ATI card has no cooling solution on the AGP bridge chip, unlike most Nvidia cards where it is a must! Anyone comment on how hot this gets and whether this could limit overclocking of the card?

As you can see from those benches in average use you can tell no diff whatsoever between AGP and PCI-E versions, if people are having trouble with their speed look at the cards, not the interface ;)

Indeed there is negligible real world performance difference between AGP/PCI-E interfaces.

I'm not sure about production costs etc, but from a performance perspective there was really no need to move to PCI-E when the 'decision' mas made. Even AGP 8x wasn't really necessary.

In my view the PCI-E interface is one of the best examples of hardware manufacturers lining each others pockets.
