Hi,

I'm thinking about buying a 512meg X1950 Pro to run Bioshock. Before I do that though ,I'd like to know how it would run with that card if I also had a C2D E6320 and 2gb of RAM.

So what kind of level can I expect to run it at smoothly?

Thanks.

my x1950pro agp 512mb is on order should be here in weeks time i guess. will let you know how it goes on. but hopefully someone else can reply and let us know how it runs

My 1950Pro is the 256Mb version, rest of spec in sig and it playes it well on full settings with 30fps+ most of the time although it did drop into the 20's once or twice if i remember correctly.

hmm, the resolution i inted to play at is 1360x768 so looks like my rez has nearly 30% less pixels than your rez. should be ok then i guess.

I'm also going to be playing at 1280 x 1024. I'm on vista, hope that doesn't affect performance.

as long as you got the patches for vista installed you will be fine.

my x1900xt does not give any rendering errors in bioshock demo using the hotfixed drivers.

I have a X1950Pro 256MB and play Bioshock at 1440x900 on high settings with Vsync On. My frame rates are between 30 and 45 FPS.

I wanted to play it at the native resolution of my screen (1680x1050) but it was a bit too jerky for my liking.

spec:
core 2 duo e6600 2.4ghz
X1950 256MB
2 gig ram
1440 X 900

All HIGH SETTINGS :
FPS 30 - 60 fps

When your just walking around with no action its 60 fps when the shooting begins it goes to 30fps.

Im finding it fine using a HIS 512Mb AGP card, running on an AMD x2 3800 with 2Gb, XP. Its at 1280x1024. No idea what the frame rate is - as cba benchmarking. BUT, its not exactly a game i run around frantically in. In fact, much like in farcry, I find myself wandering around, admiring the detail - much like in a museum! :p Ive not installed the hotfix for the ATI cards as Ive not seen visually the problem. Ive not got recent drivers. In fact they're still 6.12 Oooo Cutting edge!

thats good to hear, my agp card is on order and from the benchmarks it seems its gonna make a big difference over the 7600gs i currently use.

Ive just been round to my girlfriends brothers to install Bioshock demo

He has an 1800XT and an 2.2 amd single core

Runs everything on max at 1400 x 900 in XP

I also put on the MOH Airbourne demo, and it ran that on max too.
