X1950Pro+DS4 or X1900XT+DS3...

Moving to Conroe, and i'm left with this choice.

Do I get a X1950Pro and a DS4 and possibly bung in annother nice cheep 1950 in the new year for CrossFire goodness.

Or do I get the X1900XT and a DS3, stick with a single card solution and wait til the DX10 games hit then move to a DX10 card.

Choices choices...

Its not worth running Crossfire on the DS4 as the second PCI-E slot only runs at 4x, so id stick with the x1900 XT.

I would just get a DS3 and X1900XT, I am using those myself so you can believe me when I say they will easily see you through to your next upgrade. They'll last ages.

Why not keep 2 x 7800GT's and buy one of the new SLI conroe mobo's that are due out tomo?

I have to say that easyrider's idea is the best option especially when you think about the money you could save now, those 7800 will cut through most games until direct x10 becomes a must have. This way you can afford a better motherboard and eventually, maybe, go sli with the direct x10 cards if the fancy took you.
